The Kingdom of Elementia is scarred. Five years ago, outside forces from the east, their ranks full of strange and monstrous creatures. sought to invade and steal the kingdom’s magic and it was only by great effort and sacrifice that they were defeated.  The political situation became unstable with the loss of several important figures, and now ambition overshadows loyalties. Using the new reign of a young monarch after the death of his father, the two churches swiftly gained power and influence and pushed the diminished Elementalists out of the king’s favour. The Elementalists that remain are either controlled by the Churches, or hiding in remote areas.


Since the balance of the land has been upset by the war, chaos has begun to reign in the land. The young king struggles to control his leaders and to handle the surge of troubles as people take advantage of the situation.  The war against the outside forces may have been won, but now the interior struggle threatens to tear the kingdom apart.

Gameplay

Order of the Elements was started as a solo endeavor by Blake Handley, longing for a game that prioritised quality sandbox gameplay over economically-driven interaction systems.

  • Skilling-based character progression that feels meaningful, taking time and effort that won’t be overridden by future patches or updates.
  • Lore-driven, unique quests that give the player a real challenge and a sense of fulfilment when completed (whodunnits, riddles, puzzles, hard boss fights).
  • Combat, simple in nature but difficult to master, requiring adaptation for the situation/enemy.
  • Incidental social interaction that doesn’t feel forced / constrained
  • A player driven economy
